Solar power from the roof

Since 2016, we have been producing sustainably in our factory using "Frutiger Sonnenstrom." Photovoltaic cells on our roof make this possible.

respect

As the sustainable use of raw materials and energy is important to us, we are very pleased to have our own small ‘solar power plant’.

Sustainability is our core value. We have a deep respect for nature and the environment. We try to incorporate environmental considerations into all our decisions and changes. So it was clear to us that we wanted to generate electricity from our own source when we built our new company headquarters in 2016. This was made possible thanks to an in-house photovoltaic system on the roof. A photovoltaic system is the direct conversion of sunlight into electrical energy using solar cells. And as we enjoy many warm sunny days in summer and winter in our beautiful mountain valley in Frutigen, we not only source many of our raw materials from the region with short transport routes, but also solar power. Good things are so close, so why look far away?

Facts and figures

In our first six months after moving into the new building, our photovoltaic system already produced 8,650 kilowatt hours of electricity. In the following years, this result was exceeded by far. We are currently generating an impressive 15,010 kilowatt hours of electricity per year (as of 2021). With our photovoltaic system, we have taken another step towards increasingly sustainable production of our natural products. We will continue to endeavour to improve step by step in the future.
